David Hoffman, M.D.
Board Certified, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
David Hoffman, M.D. joined Dr. Maxson’s practice in 1989 and has substantially contributed to the development and refinement of all of the NCIRE programs. A native of Philadelphia, Dr. Hoffman attended medical school at Temple University and graduated from Trinity College, in Hartford, Connecticut.
He completed both his residency in obstetrics and gynecology and his fellowship in reproductive endocrinolgoy and infertility at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Following training, he joined the faculty at Northwestern University in Chicago where he remained for five years before coming to South Florida.
A past president of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), Dr. Hoffman received widespread media interest in 2003 for his role in the survey of the number of cryopreserved (frozen) embryos in storage in the United States; Dr. Hoffman lead a team that found there are approximately twice as many such embryos as previously estimated and that only a tiny number are available for research.
